Griffin Technology 4002-TJUICE TuneJuice Battery Backup for iPod and iPod mini Immediately
Watching video on an iPod drains the batteries pretty quickly. I normally use a Tekkeon rechargeable Lirhium Ion external battery pack with my iPod and other small electronics. I had, frankly, forgotten that I owned this Griffin product.
In terms of every day use for shorter trips, I like it better in some ways than the Tekkeon.
Why? I don't need to carry an AC adapter for charging!
I can use rechargeable 9v batteries or the disposables that are available practically everywhere. Even with a couple of 9v batteries, this is a lightweight package.
A word of caution: do not view this as a means of recharging your exhausted iPod battery. It doesn't work well in that role. Instead, use this as a supplemental power source. Plug it into the iPod while the iPod battery is still showing a 50% or better charge. You want to deplete the 9v battery first, before you grind down the iPod battery.
Use it the right way and you'll get several more hours playtime out of your iPod.
Great little add-on, especially for iPod video watchers.
Jerry
